Our journey then leads us into the forest, tracking the path of the gorillas from the previous night. The terrain is rugged and muddy, demanding physical endurance. Despite the challenging hike, the splendor of the forest and its surroundings make the trek immensely rewarding. It’s advisable to carry an ample water supply for the trek, as well as cameras with fast-speed film to capture memorable moments. Given the unpredictable nature of the tropical rainforest, waterproof attire is essential, along with zip lock bags for protecting cameras and film. Other recommended items include sturdy hiking boots, long pants, gloves, and a raincoat. The duration of the encounter with the gorillas is limited to 1 hour.
